PRE-WORKOUT

CHOOSE YOUR ENERGY. OWN YOUR WORKOUT.

From moderate energy to high stimulation and caffeine-free pump formulas, start with the intensity that fits how and when you train.

Caffeine amounts are based on a full serving. Always follow product label directions.

How We Classify Stimulant Level

Moderate Stim: Generally up to 250 mg of caffeine per full serving, unless additional stimulants materially increase the formula’s intensity.

High Stim: Generally over 250 mg per full serving, or formulas containing stronger secondary stimulants.

Stim-Free / Pump: No caffeine or conventional stimulants; primarily designed for pumps and stimulant-free training.

Classifications use the full labelled serving, not a half-scoop option. Always check the product label before use.

Pre-Workout Supplements: Energy, Focus and Pump Support

Pre-workout supplements are taken before training to support energy, focus and exercise performance. Formulas vary widely: some use caffeine and other stimulants, while caffeine-free products focus on muscle pumps, blood flow and training support without stimulant energy. The best choice depends on your caffeine tolerance, training time, goals and the ingredients you already use elsewhere in your supplement routine.

Choose the right stimulant level

Moderate-stimulant pre-workouts are a practical starting point for many athletes and everyday gym-goers. High-stimulant formulas are intended for experienced users with a higher tolerance. If you train in the evening, avoid caffeine or prefer to control stimulants separately, a caffeine-free or pump-focused pre-workout may be a better fit.

Understand common pre-workout ingredients

Caffeine is commonly used for energy and alertness. Citrulline and other nitric-oxide-support ingredients are often included for muscle pumps and blood flow. Beta-alanine may cause a temporary tingling sensation and is commonly used in performance formulas. Some products also contain betaine, taurine, creatine or focus-support ingredients. Ingredient amounts and serving sizes vary, so compare labels rather than judging products only by scoop size.

Match the formula to your goal

Use the stimulant-level shortcuts and filters above to compare moderate-stimulant, high-stimulant and caffeine-free options. Thermogenic pre-workouts combine training energy with ingredients intended for cutting or fat-loss routines. These categories can overlap because stimulant level describes intensity, while pump or thermogenic positioning describes the formula’s purpose.

Start with the lowest serving recommended on the label to assess tolerance. Do not combine high-caffeine pre-workouts with other stimulant products, and check the label for caffeine content, serving directions and warnings before use.
