HMB stands for B-Hydroxy B-Methylbutyrate Monohydrate. HMB is a metabolite of the branch chain amino acid “L-Leucine.”
The B.C.A.A’s are some of the most important amino acids for building muscle tissue. PROLINE’s HMB 1000 contains 1000mg
of Hydroxy Methylbutyrate (HMB) it is well researched and safe to use, it has been shown to preserve muscle mass by
minimizing protein breakdown, and damage to muscles after intense exercise. Also contributes to reduced body fat.
HMB is anti-catabolic (prevents muscle breakdown). Since the tendency of the body is always to consume muscle before fat,
and muscle burns fat, preserving and building muscle helps to create lean body mass. Along with Vitamin C, and other nutrients
(eg.Magnesium, Siberian Ginseng, Vitamin B-5) HMB can lower cortisol levels in the blood. Cortisol, a hormone released by the
adrenal glands, is elevated by stress, including strenuous exercise. It causes muscular wasting,immune suppression and causes
the body to store fat around the abdomen. HMB contributes to beta-oxidation (fat-burning) and increases aerobic performance by
enhancing oxygen consumption.
A university study done with athletes, showed that the participants, who used 3000mg (3 grams) per day, gained more strength,
and lost more body fat than the placebo group. Only 2 capsules of PROLINE’s HMB, twice per day, puts you into the range of
clinical effectiveness. May be taken with or without food.

Build muscle while cutting
It's a hard item to have an opinion on, but I believe it has helped to continue to build muscle while I've been cutting. Things I don't like: 1. If I take this on an empty stomach I get insane gut rot. I do my workouts fasted, so I can't really use this pre-workout as recommended. YMMV. 2. The dosage suggestion is on the high end of what's recommended based on research. Depending on who you talk to you'll get a different answer. You can either go 1-3 grams, or by other research, which would recommend approximately 38mg for every kilo you weigh. All I really know is taking the recommended dose made me feel extremely nauseous.
